Hello there, To answer this question I would need to know some more information: What county were you charged in? Have you had any other tickets in the last three years? Are you willing to complete community service or a driving school course? Are you licensed in the state of North...
Q: An organization refuses to admit not seeing a sticker on my car for parking, forcing me to pay a "discount". Legal/Sue?
My apartment complex put a tire clamp on my vehicle because they thought they didn't see a sticker. I had talked to them about overriding it because it's there but they claimed the sticker needed to be placed in the front. No instruction was given to me and nowhere on the lease does it... Send them a copy of your lease, you are not bound by a term that is not contained in your lease. Politely ask them to remove the jack and waive the fine. If they refuse then threaten legal action.

While I don't know what Wiliminton's DA's policy is, it is highly likely that if you hire a local attorney they can plea the ticket down to a level that will not affect your insurance. Generally speaking this costs somewhere between 100-150 and then you have fines and court costs on top of that.
Q: If a traffic ticket has a charge that is false, can the ticket be dismissed?
A ticket was issued for a failure to stop at a 4-way stop sign. If you stop at the sign you cannot see clearly, so I stopped before the intersection, but not directly at the stop sign. Also the ticket says that there was a flashing red light, but there is not.

The particular charge may be dismissed but not necessarily the entire ticket. I suggest that you contact a traffic ticket attorney in your area and ask how the local jurisdiction approach these type cases----hire4 an attorney to represent you if necessary. Good luck.

Most counties reduce speeding tickets to give people an incentive to go ahead and take care of them. Technically, speeding at a high enough speed is treated as a criminal charge and, if convicted, would show up on a background check. Getting it reduced would address this and is usually how traffic... Read more »
Q: I was issued a hit and run citation. I didn't realize I hit the other vehicle in a parking lot. What should I do next?
I am prepared to repair the damage but I really had no idea it made contact. I knew I was close but didn't tell or hear any contact. My car had a light scratch only. You should contact a lawyer as soon as possible---the more time the lawyer has to work on your matter and get it resolved the better. That said, you can hire a lawyer up to the time your matter is adjudicated, however, the closer you get to that deadline, the more difficult it might be to hire a... Read more »

Most lawyers charge around $100 for traffic matters, a lawyer can likely get this reduced to a charge of improper equipment depending on your record. Should you hire a lawyer you will likely not have to go to court.

One day after the court date. In most counties, this can be reduced to a 9 over, which, if it is your first and you are the only person on your insurance, will not affect your insurance.

You may get a ticket for driving the vehicle in its current condition, but if you fix it and show the court proof of the fix the ticket would be dismissed. What is more likely to happen is that once it comes time for your annual inspection you will have to get it fixed.
Q: Is it worth it to pay a lawyer for a traffic ticket?
David Allan King
answered on Feb 17, 2021
It depends. Usually folks hire a lawyer if either (a) it's a major ticket like a DUI or (b) it's a minor ticket that will effect their insurance or license, because of prior strikes. If it's your first ticket, it's a minor ticket, it falls under your insurer's forgiveness... Read more »

Yes, it's legal. A law enforcement officer can issue the driver of a car with an expired registration tag a ticket every time someone is observed operating the car on a public street or highway. It doesn't matter if the driver of the vehicle has already been issued a previous ticket for... Read more »

The reinstatement fee is more now and you will likely be required to pay the current reinstatement fee now what was in effect 21 years ago. However, the reinstatement fee is irrelevant until you have resolved the old tickets - as you will remain suspended until they are taken care of. Your best... Read more »

Everyone is required to preferably move to the left if possible or at least slow down considerably when passing a stopped officer or other emergency vehicle. It is a complete shame there actually has to be a law to tell people to do that. As to the ticket, there is no fighting a ticket. From the... Read more »
